About Us

DOF

The significance of the objectives of DOF cannot be overemphasized. Hunger and poverty are one of the major problems confronting the human race. To address these problems and other global afflictions, the United Nations in 2015 adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”) making eradication of poverty the number one goal and zero hunger the number two goal. This ranking underscores the priority given to these global issues by the United Nations. In addition, Good Health and Well-Being is the third SDG while Quality Education sits comfortably as the fourth goal. DOF will also engage in rigorous advocacy and litigation on human rights matters. We strive to provide human rights representation to deserving Ogun citizens on a pro bono basis. Our volunteer lawyers are ready and are some of the best human rights advocates and litigators around.

Demola Okeowo Foundation Aims

DOF aims to combat poverty and hunger among the good people of Ogun State, relies on private and public support in the generation of resources to execute its mandates, and believes that service to humanity is the greatest form of service.

What We Do?

We’re On A Mission To Solve
Problems

At DOF, our goal is to assist with the reduction if not the eradication of poverty and hunger in Ogun State.

Livelihood

One of the objectives of DOF is the sustainable livelihood program which is to reduce poverty and inequality by generating employment among the low- and middle-income households and by moving highly vulnerable households into sustainable livelihoods and towards economic stability.

Human Rights

In our bid to support the building of a society that upholds the rule of law, DOF through its “Human Rights Program” is committed to: preventing and ending human rights violation; demanding justice for anyone whose right has been breached, is being breached or likely to be breached; and sensitising the public on human rights and constitutional law matters.

Health

Health they say is wealth. Our mission at DOF is to promote goal number three of the UN Sustainable Development Goals of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. In particular, DOF is committed to ensuring that our seniors and other most vulnerable citizens of Ogun State are provided the necessary medical attention and assistance that they need.

Education

It is no longer news that the education system in Nigeria is a misrepresentation of what education should be in an ideal society. Finding by the United Nations International Children’s Fund (“UNICEF”) reveals that about 10.5 million of the country’s children between the ages of 5 and 14 years are out of school and those that attend schools are deprived of qualitative and effective education.
